Vagharshapat Elections Will Be Fair

On November 5–8, 2025, APR Group NGO conducted a sociological survey aimed at identifying the political attitudes of the residents of the Vagharshapat community ahead of the upcoming municipal council elections.

According to the survey, when asked whom they would prefer to see as Mayor of Vagharshapat, 56.8% of respondents named Argishti Mekhakyan, 11.2% Sevak Khachatryan, 3.1% Khachik Manukyan, and 2.7% Grisha Harutyunyan.

The study also found that the majority of Vagharshapat residents are satisfied with the work of the current mayor. In response to the question “How satisfied are you with the Mayor’s performance?”, 35.1% answered “very satisfied,” 46.3% “somewhat satisfied,” 8.1% “not very satisfied,” and 5% “not satisfied at all.”

A total of 87.6% of respondents stated that they would participate in the Vagharshapat municipal council elections if they were held this Sunday. Among those intending to vote, 51.4% indicated support for the “Civil Contract” Party, 12.7% for the “Victory” Party, 4.6% for the “Mother Armenia” Party, and 2.3% for the “Homeland” Party.

When asked which parties they believe would win the upcoming elections in Vagharshapat, 47.7% named the “Civil Contract” Party, 18.6% the “Victory” Party, 4.3% the “Mother Armenia” Party, 4.3% the “Republic” Party, and 4.3% the “Homeland” Party.

A total of 40.2% of respondents stated that they are fully confident and 29.7% somewhat confident that the upcoming elections in Vagharshapat will be fair.

The survey was conducted through face-to-face household interviews using CAPI (Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing) technology. The study covered residents aged 18 and above from the Vagharshapat community, including the city of Vagharshapat and 18 surrounding villages.

Total sample size: 511 respondents. Confidence level: 95%. Margin of error: ±4.3%. Sampling method: quota sampling. Client: Civil Contract Party.
