APR Group has published the nationwide public opinion study "Public Perceptions, Attitudes and Awareness of Mental Health in Armenia", conducted under the EU-funded project "Rights, Services and Participation: Promoting a Comprehensive Mental Health Framework in Armenia",
commissioned by the Helsinki Citizens' Assembly Vanadzor Office.
The study was carried out across all regions of Armenia and Yerevan using face-to-face Computer-Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI). A representative sample of 1,200 adults (18+) participated in the survey, and the collected data were analysed using SPSS statistical software.
The research explores public knowledge, attitudes and personal experiences related to mental health, as well as societal perceptions of people living with mental health conditions. The report presents key findings, conclusions and policy recommendations aimed at reducing stigma, improving public awareness and supporting evidence-based development of mental health services in Armenia.
